Welcome to CIH Unlocked, our member-exclusive publication delivering expert housing insight and analysis straight to your inbox.
It might sound hyperbolic to say that history was made earlier this week, but it's true. Over two days, nearly 3,000 delegates descended on Liverpool for the inaugural Housing Community Summit, the first housing conference to be jointly hosted by the Chartered Institute of Housing and the National Housing Federation.
There was much to see, do, experience and learn. And with the summit being the first major housing conference post election, there was no shortage of things to talk about. You can read all about it in our lead piece.
Also in this issue, we've got the key takeaways from our recent member-exclusive webinar on what the new government means for housing. CIH's Gavin Smart, James Prestwich and Rachael Williamson, alongside Hough Bellis Communications' Bobbie Hough, were on hand to share their expert insights.
Elsewhere, we explore why London is producing a disproportionately high number of social housing complaints, and what can be done about it; we talk to Tuath Housing about their award-winning approach to 'rightsizing'; and we take a brief look at the Regulator of Social Housing's recent quarterly survey, and what it says about the state of the sector's finances.
As always, we welcome your feedback on Unlocked, and you can find more information on how to share your thoughts with us at the bottom of the newsletter.
