Welcome to CIH Unlocked, our member-exclusive publication delivering expert housing insight and analysis straight to your inbox.
Supported housing is under strain, and it's widely agreed that if it is to continue helping those in need, the sector itself needs support. In its first meeting since the general election, the newly rejuvenated Supported Housing Network explored how the supported housing landscape might change under the new government, and the level of assistance it can expect over the coming months.
I've also spent the past few days thumbing through the new book by Kwajo Tweneboa, 'Our Country in Crisis.' Within it Kwajo holds no prisoners, as you might expect, but by drawing on his own experiences as both a housing tenant and a campaigner, he explains how housing professionals, politicians and the media can come together to fix some of the country's most chronic housing woes for good.
Elsewhere, you'll find insightful comment pieces on modern methods of construction and digital communication, as well as our recently published 'WYNTK' on Angela Rayner's big housing and planning speech.
As always, we welcome your feedback on Unlocked, and you can find more information on how to share your thoughts with us at the bottom of the newsletter.
