Dear contact.firstname
Well, here we after. After six weeks of campaigning from all political parties, it's time for those of us in the UK to go to the polls and have our say on who we think should run the country. It's a big moment for the four UK nations, and a big moment for housing, too, as whoever gets into power will dictate the course of housing policy for the next few years. The incoming government will hold great sway over many issues, including the number of homes that get built and where they get built, the rights of tenants and the future of Right to Buy.
I talk about the election with vocal housing campaigner Kwajo Tweneboa in our lead piece. He shares his thoughts on the big issues he wants the incoming government to tackle and what he's learnt from the past three years of campaigning. I also ask Kwajo about his new book, 'Our Country in Crisis', which comes out later this month.
Also in this issue, I talk with Sarah Shaw, housing services director at Newlon Housing Trust, about the work they've been doing to build trust and improve tenant satisfaction. After two-and-a-half years their efforts are starting to bear fruit, and Sarah is keen to shout about the progress they've made.
There's much more great content to get stuck into in this issue, as I'm sure you'll agree. As always, we welcome your feedback, and you can find more information on how to share your thoughts with us at the bottom of the newsletter.
